Chistmas prep day- Taming the turtles and blue horses
Heading to town in the morning since buying presents is best under pressure. After five Newzealand closes. Thats when we went to the beach and playground in Tahunanui.
Rock Pools- miniature lifeforms under infinitely wide sky
We walked from dawn to night watching the small fish, shells, seastars, crabs and the most beautiful sky. We were only there with heart and head.
“Die Vögel”
They were watching every bite we took. The grilled fish was delishes.
Maitai River Picnic …
… and Playground, of course.
Arrival at Tahunanui Beach
Tahunanui, Maori for “huge sandbank”, hits the nail on the head.
Could this be 10 Downing Street?
For any British person, of course not. But for us, it was. For two weeks time. What else happened in the Edwardian House at Majoribanks Street:
Cones – Shells of the woods
As we did quite an extensive amount of walking – from a child’s perspective – collecting cones on bush walks became the equivalent to collecting shells on beaches. It kept Clara busy collecting and Vincent busy chewing on them. Great companions. They as well got photographed so they could stay in their home towns.
Old Mac Track
Once again via Mt. Albert.
Feel like being watched?
You shouldn’t. Those are public toilets.
